Special Anti-Polio Vaccination Campaign Begins in Balochistan Today

Islamabad: In Balochistan, a special anti-polio vaccination campaign will begin in sixty-two high-risk union councils across thirteen districts today. More than two hundred thousand children under the age of five years will be administered polio drops to protect them against the crippling disease.

According to Radio Pakistan, the campaign targets areas identified as high-risk to ensure comprehensive coverage and prevent the spread of polio. The initiative is part of a broader effort to eradicate polio from the region, focusing on providing immunization to children who are most vulnerable to the virus. Health officials have been mobilized to ensure that every child in these targeted areas receives the polio vaccine during the campaign period.

The government and health authorities have been actively working to address challenges in reaching every child, including logistical issues and resistance from certain communities. This campaign is part of ongoing efforts to achieve a polio-free status in Balochistan, contributing to the global fight against the disease.
