Istanbul:Secretary-General of the Developing-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation, Ambassador Sohail Mahmood, has emphasized the need for stronger cooperation among member states to develop resilient health systems and ensure access to affordable and sustainable healthcare.

According to Radio Pakistan, during his address at the opening ceremony of the 12th Turkish Medical World Congress in Istanbul, Türkiye, Mahmood highlighted the importance of health cooperation within the D-8 framework. He noted the complementary strengths of the D-8 Member States in fostering this collaboration.

Mahmood's call for enhanced cooperation is aimed at leveraging the collective capabilities of the D-8 nations to improve healthcare access and resilience in the face of global health challenges.
