Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has stressed the need to gradually shift the province's cropping patterns to suit climate realities, water availability, and market demand. Chairing an agriculture department's meeting in Karachi today, he directed the Sindh Bank and the Agriculture Department to simplify loan procedures and expand support in underserved rural areas.According to Radio Pakistan, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of adopting sustainable agricultural practices that align with the changing climate. He highlighted the necessity of adjusting cropping patterns to ensure efficient use of water resources and to meet the evolving demands of the market. Furthermore, he urged for a streamlined process in obtaining loans, which would provide crucial financial assistance to farmers, particularly those in less accessible rural locations.The meeting also underscored the significance of enhancing support services provided by the Agriculture Department and Sindh Bank. The Chief M inister called for increased efforts to make these services more accessible to farmers, ensuring they receive the necessary tools and resources to adapt to new agricultural methodologies.
