Roof Collapse at Lahore Tuition Centre Claims Lives of 14 Children

Islamabad: In a tragic incident in Lahore, at least fourteen children lost their lives, and several others were injured when the roof of a tuition centre collapsed in the Kahna area today. Rescue teams arrived promptly at the scene, initiating a search and rescue operation to manage the aftermath of the collapse.

According to Radio Pakistan, the deceased and injured children were transported to a nearby hospital, where the injured are currently receiving medical treatment. The incident has sparked a wave of sorrow and concern across the nation, highlighting the urgent need for stringent safety measures in educational facilities.

President Asif Ali Zardari expressed deep sorrow and grief over the tragic event, offering prayers for the elevation of the ranks of the children who died, patience for the bereaved families, and a swift and complete recovery for those injured. He emphasized the necessity of implementing effective safety protocols to avert similar tragedies in the future.

Similarly, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed his deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the incident. The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also expressed his condolences, extending heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families and hoping for the eternal peace of the departed souls and the speedy recovery of the injured, in a post on X.
