Rising Frustration Exposes Cracks in Indian Army’s Modernization Drive

New delhi: The growing frustration within the Indian Army has exposed the failure of India’s much-touted military modernization drive and revealed deep internal weaknesses. Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ defense ambitions appear to be collapsing, as the Indian Army has now begun openly complaining about not receiving weapons and equipment on time.

According to Radio Pakistan, India’s Chief of Defence Staff, General Anil Chauhan, has also expressed serious distrust in the country’s defense industry. CDS Anil Chauhan stated that under the corrupt leadership of Narendra Modi, Indian defense companies failed to deliver modern weapon systems despite receiving billions in government funding. He warned the government that failure to ensure timely deliveries has weakened India’s industrial capacity.

He said that the Indian Army expects “some nationalism and patriotism” from Narendra Modi’s profit-driven defense initiatives. He urged the government to speak truthfully about the actual production capacity of local companies, as this issue is directly linked to national security.

The criticism voiced by India’s top military leadership itself stands as clear evidence of internal mismanagement, poor planning, and the widening cracks within the Indian Army’s modernization program.
