Islamabad: Development work has commenced on the rehabilitation and widening of the service road along Islamabad Expressway. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the project site this morning to review the progress of the development work.

According to Radio Pakistan, during the visit, the interior minister directed the authorities to complete the project within a few months instead of the originally planned one-year timeframe. Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that there would be no compromise on the project's pace, quality, or transparency.

He mentioned that the project would benefit dozens of residential areas in Islamabad, significantly reduce traffic congestion on the Islamabad Expressway, and make travel easier and faster for residents of both Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Naqvi stated that the development of every area of Islamabad and providing people with quality facilities is a priority.

During the visit, the Interior Minister was given a detailed briefing on the project. It was informed that the project comprises a six-lane road, with three lanes on each side, along with an underpass and a flyover. The project, spanning from Faizabad to Korang Chowk, will be 8.25 kilometers long.
