New york: Pakistan asserts that peace in South Asia will remain elusive until India ceases its occupation of Jammu and Kashmir and abandons its aggressive policies and state-sponsored terrorism. In a right of reply at the United Nations General Assembly, Pakistan’s Counselor Saima Salim emphasized that propaganda cannot erase persecution, and denial cannot mask disinformation.
According to Radio Pakistan, Saima Salim declared that Jammu and Kashmir has never been an integral part of India. She pointed to numerous Security Council resolutions that affirm this reality. Saima reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri people’s inalienable right to self-determination.
The Pakistani envoy further stated that India’s so-called democracy has become a threat characterized by intolerance, where Islamophobia and hatred have been institutionalized. She highlighted that under the Hindutva ideology, minorities, particularly Muslims, live in fear, facing lynchings, the demolition of mosques, the burning of churches, and the normalization of hate speeches.
