Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Women University, under the directives of the Higher Education Department Punjab, organized the Research and Innovation Pitch Fest-2025 today. During the ceremony, a total of nine million rupees in seed funding was distributed to various startups, prototypes, and research projects.
According to Radio Pakistan, projects from Rawalpindi Women University secured seven million rupees, while Fatima Jinnah Women University projects received two million rupees. The Pitch Fest-2025 is in line with the vision of Punjab’s Minister for Higher Education, Rana Sikandar Hayat, aiming to empower young women through research, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
A total of 350 participants from multiple disciplines presented seventy pitches in the competition. The jury, comprising industrial and academic experts, shortlisted 20 projects based on innovation, market value, and investment potential. After final presentations, seven outstanding projects were awarded industrial support and seed funding.
On
the occasion, Director of the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization at Rawalpindi Women University, Dr. Motasim Billah, expressed gratitude to sponsors, guests, and organizers.
