Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that providing talented and deserving students of Pakistan with quality and modern education on merit is the government's top priority. He was chairing a meeting regarding Daanish University in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif indicated that Daanish University is poised to offer world-class educational opportunities to talented and deserving young people in Pakistan. He emphasized that the university would emerge as a center of excellence in technology, not only within Pakistan but also across the region, offering outstanding educational, research, and modern technological facilities.

The Prime Minister stressed that admissions to Daanish University would be based solely on merit, ensuring that only the most talented students gain entry. The meeting also included a briefing on the progress of various directives issued by the Prime Minister concerning the establishment of Daanish University.

It was revealed during the meeting that a total of 185 applications have been received for various faculty positions at the university. Additionally, a talent hunt process has been initiated to identify students currently in the second year of FSc and A-Levels for admission to Daanish University's Virtual School. The successful candidates will benefit from five months of free classes.

The meeting was also informed about the ongoing construction of the Daanish University building, which is expected to be completed by next year.
