Privatization of Electricity Distribution Companies is being processed and initial work in this regard has been geared up.This was disclosed in a meeting co-chaired by Minister for Privatization, Abdul Aleem Khan and Minister for Energy Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari in Islamabad.Speaking at the meeting, Abdul Aleem Khan said the privatization of DISCOs will be completed in different phases in which transparency and technical aspects must be kept into consideration.During the meeting, the Minister for Energy directed that the issues necessary for the privatization of DISCOs should be dealt with as soon as possible.The Secretary Energy told the meeting that the complete schedule for the privatization of DISCO" had been prepared.Source:Radio Pakistan
