Prime Minister Commits to Ongoing Fuel Subsidy Scheme

Islamabad:Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that the fuel subsidy scheme will continue, benefiting over ten million people so far.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister addressed a meeting in Islamabad where he highlighted the scheme's success in providing relief to motorcyclists, Qingqi rickshaw users, and owners of vehicles with an engine capacity of up to 800cc.

Sharif noted that more than 21.7 million tokens have been issued, with approximately 19.4 million redeemed to access subsidized fuel. The government has dedicated 75 billion rupees to support this initiative.

He expressed appreciation for the coordinated efforts of the federal and provincial governments, as well as relevant institutions, in the scheme's successful implementation. The Prime Minister extended gratitude to Chief Ministers, Chief Secretaries, Federal Ministries, and all departments involved.

In recognition of their contributions, the Prime Minister announced an award for Minister for Information Technology Shaza Fatima Khawaja and shields for other officials and teams.
