President Invites Polish Businesses to Explore Joint Ventures in Pakistan


Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has invited Polish businesses to explore joint ventures and investment opportunities in Pakistan’s special economic zones. He was talking to the visiting Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Radoslaw Sikorski, who called on him in Islamabad on Friday. The President emphasized the importance of the long-standing ties between Pakistan and Poland, which are based on mutual respect and cooperation.



According to Radio Pakistan, President Zardari expressed Pakistan’s desire to further deepen political, economic, and cultural engagement between the two countries. He pointed out the significant potential for expanding bilateral trade and investment, particularly in sectors such as renewable energy, information technology, agriculture, and mining. The President also highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and stability, noting the country’s constructive role in promoting connectivity and economic integration in South and Central Asia.



The President welcomed Poland’s support for Pakistan in the European Union and stressed the importance of continued collaboration on global and regional issues. Discussions between the two sides focused on enhancing cooperation in education, defense, and people-to-people exchanges. The Polish Deputy Prime Minister expressed a keen interest in strengthening the bilateral partnership with Pakistan across multiple sectors, with a particular focus on enhancing bilateral trade.



The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of Poland to Pakistan, Maciej Pisarski, and the Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Interior and Administration of Poland, Maciej Duszczyk. On the Pakistani side, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Senator Sherry Rehman, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, and the Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were present.
