Polling for Reserved Seats of AJK Assembly Conducted Today

Islamabad: Polling for seven reserved seats of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly is being held today. The polling is taking place at the Legislative Assembly Hall and is scheduled from eleven in the morning to one in the afternoon.

According to Radio Pakistan, Abdul Rehman of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has been declared elected unopposed on the Overseas Kashmiri reserved seat. The contest for the five women's reserved seats includes four candidates from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and three from the Pakistan Peoples Party.

The technocrat seat sees a contest between Barrister Iftikhar Gilani of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Sahibzada Zulfiqar Ali of the Pakistan Peoples Party. Additionally, Pir Mazhar Ali Shah of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Hafiz Tariq Mehmood of the Pakistan Peoples Party are vying for the Ulema and Mashaikh seat.
