Islamabad: The Prime Minister's Task Force on Maritime Reforms is actively implementing measures to advance modern aquaculture, enhance food security, and boost exports.
According to Radio Pakistan, modern aquaculture farms have been set up in Gharo, located in the Thatta district of Sindh. These farms are utilizing contemporary techniques to breed various fish species, including Tilapia and Pangasius, thereby promoting sustainable aquaculture practices.
In a significant development, Pakistan's first all-male freshwater giant prawn hatchery has been established through a collaboration with Pak Gharo and Malaysian company GK Aqua Sdn Bhd. This initiative marks a step forward in the country's aquaculture sector, offering potential for increased productivity and export opportunities.
