PML-N’s Hafiz Abdul Karim Secures Victory in Punjab Senate Election

Lahore: Hafiz Abdul Karim of PML-N has won the Senate election on a general seat in Punjab.

According to Radio Pakistan, Hafiz Abdul Karim secured 243 votes, defeating Meher Abdul Sattar of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, who received 99 votes. In this election, out of 368 eligible members, 345 votes were cast, with three votes declared invalid.

The seat became vacant following the death of Professor Sajid Mir. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated and expressed his best wishes to Hafiz Abdul Karim. The Prime Minister expressed that Hafiz Abdul Karim would play an active role in the supremacy of the constitution and the prosperity of the country. He further observed that the election to Senate seats was a continuation of the democratic system.
