Gilgit: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif today held meetings with the Governor of Gilgit-Baltistan Syed Mehdi Shah and Caretaker Chief Minister Yar Muhammad to discuss key issues concerning the region. The discussions focused on the ongoing development projects in Gilgit-Baltistan, the law and order situation, and various administrative affairs.According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister highlighted Pakistan's pivotal role in fostering regional peace, particularly emphasizing its involvement in recent diplomatic maneuvers aimed at securing a ceasefire amid Iran-US tensions. The Prime Minister asserted that Pakistan's constructive contributions to peace efforts would be recognized by history.He also commended the efforts of Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, for their instrumental roles in achieving the ceasefire, which was crucial in averting a prolonged conflict in the region.
