Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed satisfaction over Pakistani exports reaching 2.7 billion dollars in the first month of the new fiscal year. In a statement, he said the country’s exports have witnessed an increase of 17 percent from July last year to July this year, while a nine percent increase within just one month is a highly welcoming sign for the country’s economy.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister emphasized that export-led growth is the government’s topmost priority. He noted that the government’s prudent economic policies and efforts are yielding positive results as economic indicators are moving in the right direction.
The Prime Minister praised the efforts of the government’s economic team, highlighting that the administration is committed to increasing exports, promoting investment, and fostering a business-friendly environment. He mentioned that the implementation of a faceless customs assessment system is improving port operations, and an increase in the ratio of tax collection to GDP is satisfactory for the government.
Shehbaz Sharif pointed out that improvements in Pakistan’s credit ratings by international financial institutions and record bullish trends in the Pakistan Stock Exchange reflect economic stability. He added that overseas Pakistanis are being facilitated in every possible way to further increase remittances.
