Quetta: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has announced numerous development projects worth billions of rupees in the education and infrastructure sectors in Balochistan. He addressed the political leadership of Balochistan during his visit to Quetta.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister revealed plans to establish five Daanish Schools in the province, aimed at providing quality education to deserving children. In a significant move to boost infrastructure, he declared the construction of the Chaman-Karachi (N-25) highway, a project estimated to cost 300 billion rupees, which will facilitate the people of Balochistan.
Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the allocation of funds to all provinces under the National Finance Commission (NFC) award, reiterating his commitment to progress and prosperity through collective efforts and consultation. He highlighted Punjab’s past initiative to divert financial resources from its NFC share to Balochistan, resulting in 175 billion rupees being provided over the last 16 years.
Additionally, the Prime Minister mentioned that 400 million dollars received from the World Bank are being utilized for the rehabilitation of flood-affected areas in Balochistan. Addressing counter-terrorism efforts, he praised the armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and Balochistan police for their contributions and sacrifices, stating that external forces support the threats they face.
Shehbaz Sharif commended Sarfaraz Ahmed Bugti and his cabinet, noting the earnest efforts being made for the province’s development. Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti, also present at the event, spoke about the significant steps the provincial government is taking to combat backwardness. He highlighted the unprecedented utilization of the development budget, attributing it to improved planning and financial discipline.
The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for his unwavering support and interest in the development of Balochistan.
