Pizza Consumption in Pakistan Remains Low, Survey Reveals

Karachi: Pizza remains an infrequent treat for the majority of Pakistanis as 71% reported no pizza consumption in the past year, according to a recent survey.

According to Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, the survey revealed that among the minority who do consume pizza, 92% reported eating it rarely or occasionally. A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the country was asked about their pizza consumption over the past year. The results showed that only 19% of respondents acknowledged having eaten pizza, while a significant 71% said they had not consumed it at all. Additionally, 10% of respondents either didn't know or chose not to respond to the question.

The survey posed the question, "Please tell us if you have consumed the following items in the past year? - Pizza." Conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International, the study involved a sample of 724 men and women from urban and rural areas across all four provinces. The data was collected via telephonic surveys (CATI) from April 16th to April 30th, 2025. The survey's error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 percent at the 95% confidence level.
