Islamabad:Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain has inaugurated the first high-tech automatic Beeswax Foundation Sheet Manufacturing Unit in Pakistan.

According to Radio Pakistan, this advanced facility has been set up at the National Agricultural Research Centre's Honeybee Research Institute. The unit is designed to modernize the country's beekeeping sector by promoting the local production of high-quality beeswax foundation sheets and providing beekeepers with greater access to advanced technology.

During the inaugural ceremony, Rana Tanveer Hussain highlighted Pakistan's significant potential for producing various high-quality honey varieties. He emphasized that the establishment of this modern unit marks a crucial step in the development of the country's beekeeping industry.

Hussain also stressed the importance of promoting Pakistani honey more effectively in international markets, aiming for greater access to high-value markets such as Europe, Japan, and North America.
