Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has emphasized that Pakistan's dedication to peace should not be misconstrued as a sign of weakness. He highlighted the sacrifices made by the martyrs as the sacred foundation of Pakistan's freedom, sovereignty, and security.

According to Radio Pakistan, in a message on X commemorating Defence and Martyrs' Day, Prime Minister Sharif honored the courage of Pakistan's martyrs, the bravery of its veterans, and the steadfastness of their families. He recalled the historic battles from 1965 to the successes of Marka-e-Haq and Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, underscoring the enduring spirit of September 6 demonstrated by the Armed Forces.

The Prime Minister stated that the nation stands united and proud behind the Pakistan Army, Pakistan Air Force, and Pakistan Navy. Sharif reiterated Pakistan's aspiration for peace while asserting that the country is equipped and prepared to defend its territory and overcome any form of terrorism and aggression.

He urged the people of Pakistan to pay tribute to the martyrs by striving for a united, peaceful, and economically robust nation, in line with the principles of Faith, Unity, and Discipline espoused by Quaid-e-Azam. Additionally, he prayed for the elevation of the martyrs' ranks and for the protection of Pakistan.
