Pakistan-Turkiye Friendship Week: Art & Photography Exhibition Commences in ICT


Islamabad: The two-day art and photography exhibition, in connection with Pakistan-Turkiye Friendship Week and the Turkish National Day celebrations, commenced at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts in Islamabad today. The exhibition highlights the historical ties between the two nations through a display of historic photographs and artworks depicting the Ottoman Empire, heroes of Pakistan’s freedom movement, and prominent figures from the histories of Pakistan and Turkiye.



According to Radio Pakistan, the exhibition also includes rare documents that underscore the cultural and historical bonds shared by Pakistan and Turkiye. During the inauguration ceremony, Minister of State for Culture and National Heritage Huzaifa Rehman emphasized the deep-rooted and time-tested brotherly relations between the two countries, noting their shared positions on international issues. He commended Turkiye for its support to Pakistan against Indian aggression and praised Pakistan’s success in Marka-e-Haq.



Turkish Ambassador Irfan Neziroglu, in his remarks, expressed gratitude to the Government of Pakistan for organizing events to mark Turkiye’s National Day. He conveyed hope for enhanced cooperation between the nations across various fields and the strengthening of people-to-people ties.



A significant development during the ceremony was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) and the Punjab Ministry of Culture for the rehabilitation of the Iqbal Museum in Lahore.
