Pakistan Reasserts Stance on Jammu and Kashmir at UN General Assembly

United nations: Pakistan has once again emphatically stated that Jammu and Kashmir is not an integral part of India, nor has it ever been so under international law.

According to Radio Pakistan, Minister at the Pakistan Mission, Asif Khan, responded to the remarks of the Indian delegate in the UN General Assembly by emphasizing that the Security Council and the United Nations, through a series of resolutions, have recognized Jammu and Kashmir as a disputed territory. He noted that these resolutions stipulate that the final disposition of the State of Jammu and Kashmir should be determined in accordance with the freely expressed will of its people through a free and impartial plebiscite conducted under United Nations auspices.

Asif Khan expressed regret that India continues to deny this right to the people of Jammu and Kashmir for decades, coupled with systematic suppression. The statement underscores Pakistan's long-standing position on the Kashmir issue and calls for adherence to international resolutions concerning the disputed region.
