Islamabad: Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. He was addressing the inaugural dinner of the 28th Annual Sustainable Development Conference in Islamabad today.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Acting President informed the participants of the conference that Pakistan’s Parliament is aligning national legislation and development priorities with the SDGs. He emphasized that in a world confronted with growing challenges and uncertainty, Pakistan has chosen the path of unity over division.
The Acting President stated that the conference stands as a testament to the fact that despite global turmoil, nations continue to hold firmly to hope and cooperation. He highlighted the importance of collective efforts for sustainable development and stressed that the issues facing the world today cannot be addressed without mutual collaboration.
He further underscored the critical need for enhanced cooperation among countries of the Global South, particularly in knowledge-sharing, access to technology, and developing regional strategies.
