Pakistan Ready for Composite Dialogue with India: DPM

New york: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has announced Pakistan's readiness for a composite dialogue with India, emphasizing that the discussions will extend beyond the topic of terrorism. He highlighted Pakistan's significant sacrifices in combating terrorism, which were acknowledged by the U.S. Secretary of State during a bilateral meeting.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ishaq Dar addressed the longstanding Jammu and Kashmir dispute in the meeting, stressing that a resolution is essential for permanent peace in the region. He recalled that former U.S. President Donald Trump had previously raised this issue on multiple occasions.

Regarding the Indus Water Treaty, Dar affirmed Pakistan's clear stance that the treaty is binding and cannot be unilaterally terminated or amended. He stated that any attempts to divert or block Pakistan's share of water would be unacceptable.

In response to a question, the Deputy Prime Minister clarified that Pakistan has no intentions of recognizing Israel. He called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the delivery of humanitarian assistance to Palestinians. Furthermore, he reiterated Pakistan's support for the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state with Al-Quds Al Sharif as its capital.

Concluding his remarks, Ishaq Dar described his visit to the U.S. as successful, noting that Pakistan advocated for reforms in the UN Security Council and emphasized the need for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to have adequate representation.
