Pakistan and Kuwait signed memorandums of understanding in the fields of Industrial Cooperation and Engineering today.
These MoUs were signed during the 5th Joint Ministerial Commission between Pakistan and Kuwait.
Pakistan has extended offers to Kuwait for collaboration in pharmaceutical, engineering, and automotive sectors.
Federal Minister for Investment Board, Privatization and Communications Abdul Aleem Khan led a high-level Pakistani delegation and announced plans to appoint a Commercial Counsellor in Kuwait and initiate ‘Visa on Arrival’ for GCC Member Countries in Pakistan.
He proposed that Kuwait can engage Pakistani veterinary staff, doctors, nurses, and workforce, and hoped for relaxed visa conditions for Pakistanis in Kuwait.
Abdul Aleem Khan emphasized long-term economic partnership with Kuwait, highlighting investment opportunities in IT, tourism, minerals, agriculture, food, textile, and energy sectors.
The Minister said that the Pakistani team has also held talks on joint ventures with t
he Kuwait Chamber of Commerce.
He said a consultative meeting was also held with Kuwait’s well-known Livestock Organization ‘Al Muashi’ in which Pakistan and Kuwait agreed to encourage export of Poultry and other dairy products.
Earlier, Abdul Aleem Khan met with Kuwait’s Minister for Electricity, Water, and Energy Dr. Mahmoud Abdulaziz Muhammad Busheri to discuss forming joint working groups under Special Investment Facilitation Council to address energy challenges faced by both countries.
