Islamabad: Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, alongside Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Farzaneh Sadegh, inaugurated the 22nd meeting of the Joint Economic Commission between Pakistan and Iran in Tehran today. Speaking at the event, Jam Kamal Khan emphasized the significance Pakistan places on its relationship with Iran, noting that trade and investment are central to Pakistan’s trade policy.
According to Radio Pakistan, Minister Khan highlighted the potential impact of regional connectivity through roads, rail, maritime, and air routes, describing them as potential game changers that could serve as gateways to Central Asia, South Asia, and the Middle East. He emphasized that such projects could lead to job creation and increased economic activity.
On the Iranian side, Minister Sadegh underscored the importance of the forum, expressing hope that the discussions would pave the way for future roadmaps.
