Karachi: Pakistan and Indonesia have strengthened their economic partnership with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of the Indonesia-Pakistan Joint Trade Committee. The MoU was signed following a meeting between Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan and Indonesian Vice Minister of Trade Dyah Roro Esty Widya Putri in Karachi.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Commerce Minister underscored Indonesia's strategic importance within ASEAN, highlighting its potential role as a regional hub for fostering trilateral and regional economic cooperation. He emphasized that Pakistan could serve as a reliable source for minerals, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and agri-food commodities for the Indonesian market.

Both sides agreed to work jointly for expanding the existing Preferential Trade Agreement. Indonesian Vice Minister of Trade reaffirmed commitment to deepen economic ties and trade partnership with Pakistan.
