Los Angeles: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the US, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, asserted that Pakistan has demonstrated its unwavering resolve, strength, and capability to effectively repel Indian aggression. He made these remarks at a public session hosted by the World Affairs Council in Los Angeles, emphasizing Pakistan’s right to self-defense under the UN Charter should India engage in further aggression.
According to Radio Pakistan, Ambassador Sheikh highlighted the significance of upholding international treaties and legal frameworks, particularly concerning transboundary water resources. These resources are vital for national security and the sustainable development of hundreds of millions in the region. He urged the international community to address the rising fascist and jingoistic rhetoric from India’s regime, which is influenced by the extremist Hindutva ideology and the RSS. Such rhetoric, he warned, threatens regional peace and stability.
The Ambassador also expressed appreciation for the United States’ role in facilitating the recent ceasefire in the region. Ambassador Sheikh underscored the multifaceted partnership between Pakistan and the United States, particularly in counter-terrorism, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation amidst emerging geopolitical challenges.
Welcoming continued U.S. engagement in promoting peace and addressing regional issues, the Ambassador reiterated Pakistan’s readiness for a lasting resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.
