Pakistan Criticizes India’s Actions in Jammu and Kashmir

Islamabad:Foreign Office Spokesperson Sajjad Haider Khan stated that no unilateral action by India can alter the internationally recognized disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Radio Pakistan, the spokesperson made these remarks during his weekly media briefing in Islamabad. He dismissed India's latest attempt to rename areas in Jammu and Kashmir and depict them as part of its territory on political maps, asserting that such actions cannot legitimize India's occupation of the region.

The spokesperson emphasized the need for resolving the Kashmir issue in line with relevant UN Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people through a free, fair, and impartial plebiscite under UN auspices.

Addressing a question about Houthi militia attacks on holy sites in Saudi Arabia, Khan reiterated Pakistan's unwavering solidarity with Saudi Arabia, affirming commitment to its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and security as per the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement.

In response to another inquiry, he stated Pakistan's continued advocacy for the full implementation of the Gaza peace process and relevant UN Security Council resolutions. Khan also called for the protection of Palestinian civilians, cessation of settlement activities and forced displacement, and the realization of the Palestinian people's right to self-determination.
