Pakistan Committed to Build Secure Regional Environment: Field Marshal Asim Munir

Islamabad: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has affirmed Pakistan's unwavering commitment to collaborating with partner nations to establish a secure and prosperous regional environment. He made these remarks during the Regional Chiefs of Defence Staff Conference held in Islamabad on Saturday.

According to Radio Pakistan, the conference saw participation from senior military leadership of the United States of America, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir emphasized the importance of deeper military-to-military cooperation, strategic dialogue, and mutual trust in an era characterized by transnational threats and complex hybrid challenges.

The Chief of Army Staff reiterated Pakistan's dedication to peace, stability, and constructive engagement throughout the region. The conference, themed "Strengthening Bonds, Securing Peace," aimed to bolster security collaborations, enhance training initiatives, and promote the exchange of best practices in counterterrorism and other defence and security efforts.

This significant multilateral engagement marked a notable advancement in promoting regional security cooperation, military diplomacy, and strategic dialogue among the participating nations. The high-level dialogue included comprehensive discussions on regional security dynamics, the evolving strategic environment in Central and South Asia, and the importance of joint training initiatives, counter-terrorism cooperation, and coordinated humanitarian responses during crises.

Delegates collectively reaffirmed their shared commitment to maintaining peace, respecting national sovereignty, and addressing common security threats such as terrorism, cyber insecurity, and violent extremism. Participants lauded Pakistan's leadership, hospitality, and initiative in fostering such inclusive and forward-looking defence diplomacy.

This strategic convergence underscores Pakistan's lasting commitment to a secure, interconnected, and cooperative region, grounded in shared security interests and regional solidarity.
