Pakistan Applauds UK’s Ban on Goods from Illegal Israeli Settlements

Islamabad: Pakistan has welcomed the United Kingdom's decision to impose a ban on items originating from the illegal Israeli settlements in the Occupied West Bank.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Foreign Office, in a statement today, emphasized that the ongoing expansion of illegal settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territory is a clear violation of international law and pertinent UN Security Council resolutions. Such unlawful actions are seen as hindering global efforts toward achieving a two-state solution and jeopardizing peace and stability in the region.

The Foreign Office also noted that Pakistan welcomes the announcement by several other countries, including Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, and Sweden, to consider similar measures and show their support against the illegal Israeli settlements.

Pakistan is hopeful that these measures will convey a strong and decisive message rejecting illegal activities in the Occupied Palestinian Territory. The country remains steadfast in its support for the Palestinian people in their legitimate pursuit of self-determination and continues to back all initiatives aimed at establishing a sovereign, independent, and contiguous Palestinian State based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
