Lahore: Pakistan and the United Kingdom have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation in the areas of economy, trade, and parliamentary engagement. This development came following a significant meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and the United Kingdom's Minister for Africa, the UN, Commonwealth, and Multilateral Affairs, Lord Collins of Highbury. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the UNSC Open Debate under Pakistan's presidency.

According to Radio Pakistan, Lord Collins acknowledged the valuable contributions of the Pakistani diaspora in the UK and commended Pakistan's efforts in bolstering dispute settlement mechanisms during its UNSC presidency. The dialogue between the two leaders also covered regional and global developments, with a focus on the situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Both leaders voiced their deep concern over the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza. They underscored the significance of the upcoming International Conference on the Two-State Solution, scheduled for later this month, as a critical step towards addressing the region's challenges.
