Pakistan and Tajikistan Pledge to Enhance Trade and Economic Cooperation

Islamabad: Pakistan and Tajikistan have agreed to continue efforts to further strengthen trade and economic linkages, enhance business-to-business contacts, and explore new opportunities for cooperation in agriculture and food-related sectors. The agreement was reached during a meeting between Minister for National Food Security and Research, Rana Tanveer Hussain, and Ambassador of Tajikistan to Pakistan, Yusuf Sharifzoda, in Islamabad today.According to Radio Pakistan, Rana Tanveer Hussain emphasized the need to enhance bilateral trade and economic cooperation, pointing out that the existing trade volume between the two countries needs to be increased through greater engagement and by exploring new avenues of trade. The Minister highlighted the significant potential for cooperation between Pakistan and Tajikistan in agriculture, food processing, livestock, agricultural technology, and value addition.The Tajik Ambassador stressed the importance of exploring alternative options and new avenues to revive an d expand trade between the two countries.
