Bucharest: Pakistan and Romania have expressed a mutual interest in enhancing military cooperation, as highlighted in a meeting between Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu and Romanian Chief of Defence General Gheorgita Vlad during the Pakistan Air Force Chief’s official visit to Romania.
According to Radio Pakistan, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu emphasized Pakistan’s strong diplomatic and defense relations with Romania, which are rooted in a shared focus on regional peace and security. He reiterated the importance of their bilateral military partnership in addressing common challenges and expressed a commitment to further deepening this collaboration by exploring new opportunities for cooperation and operational synergy.
The Romanian State Secretary of Defence praised the Pakistan Air Force for its impressive combat record and operational prowess, indicating Romania’s interest in leveraging PAF’s extensive operational expertise. The Romanian Chief of Defence also commended the professionalism and capabilities of the PAF, expressing a strong desire to enhance bilateral cooperation through improved interoperability, joint exercises, training exchanges, and professional development programs, all aimed at fostering long-term strategic collaboration between the two armed forces.
