Pakistan and Muslim Nations Condemn Israel’s Alleged Ceasefire Breaches in Gaza

Islamabad: Pakistan and seven other Muslim countries have issued a joint statement condemning Israel's reported violations of the ceasefire in Gaza, which have resulted in over a thousand Palestinian casualties, both injured and killed.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Foreign Ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, and the UAE released the statement on Sunday. They expressed concern that Israel's actions could escalate tensions and disrupt efforts to consolidate calm and restore stability in the region. These efforts are part of the second phase of US President Donald Trump's peace plan and aim to implement UN Security Council Resolution 2803.

The Foreign Ministers view the alleged violations as a threat to the political process, potentially hindering progress toward a more stable phase in the Gaza Strip. They underscored the importance of a full commitment to the success of the peace plan's second phase.

The statement also urged all involved parties to uphold their responsibilities during this crucial period. It called for the exercise of utmost restraint to maintain the ceasefire, avoid actions that might undermine the process, and create favorable conditions for early recovery and reconstruction.

Finally, the Foreign Ministers advocated for progressing toward a just and lasting peace, emphasizing the Palestinian right to self-determination and statehood. They called for adherence to international law, relevant UN Security Council resolutions, and the Arab peace initiative.
