Pak-Saudi Strategic Defence Agreement to Deepen Ties: PM


Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed optimism that the recent Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement with Saudi Arabia will enhance the strategic, economic, trade, and defence relations between the two nations. He conveyed this sentiment during a meeting with a delegation of the Saudi Shura Council, led by its Chairman Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh, in Islamabad.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister warmly welcomed the delegation’s visit and extended his best wishes to the Saudi King, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, praying for his health and well-being. He praised the vision of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman for the development of Saudi Arabia, noting the country’s advancements in economic and social sectors and the empowerment of women under his leadership.



During the meeting, the Chairman of the Saudi Shura Council highlighted the significance of the Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement, describing it as a testament to the enduring brotherly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. He emphasized the importance of strengthening parliamentary relations further.



The discussion concluded with an agreement to promote the exchange of parliamentary delegations between the two countries, aiming to foster closer ties and collaboration in various sectors.
