Chairman Senate Yousuf Raza Gillani has emphasized the need for greater collaboration amongst the OIC countries to address the common challenges.Addressing the inaugural session of the three-day conference on Water-Energy-Food Ecosystem Nexus for the Security of OIC countries in Islamabad today, he noted that science and technology must serve as a pivot for social justice and economic empowerment.He pointed out that rapid population growth, urbanization and environmental degradation are putting immense pressure on our resources. He said the situation warrants sharing of expertise, resources and scientific innovation to build up collective resilience against multifaceted challenges.The Chairman Senate emphasized that the security of water, food and energy resources is paramount to securing the future of coming generations.Source: Radio Pakistan
