Islamabad: National Emergencies Operation Center (NEOC) of the National Disaster Management Authority has issued an alert regarding potential rainfall in different parts of the country.
According to Radio Pakistan, intermittent rains are anticipated in various regions of Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan within the next twelve to twenty-four hours.
The alert specifies that rain is also likely in the upper reaches of major rivers, including the Jhelum, Ravi, and Sutlej. In Punjab, rainfall is expected in areas such as Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mianwali, Hafizabad, Sargodha, and Khushab.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is also forecasted to experience intermittent rains in locations like Chitral, Dir, Haripur, Kohat, Kohistan, Khyber, Kurram, and Mansehra. Rain with thundershowers is anticipated in Mohmand, Nowshera, Malakand, Charsadda, Abbottabad, Bannu, Buner, Hazara, Peshawar, Swabi, Waziristan, and nearby areas.
In Sindh, the alert predicts rain in Karachi, Jamshoro, Thatta, Badin, Sajawal, Tharparkar, and Umerkot. Additionally, the NDMA has warned about the possibility of landslides in the mountainous regions of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir due to the expected rainfall.
