Islamabad: A meeting of Revenue Mobilisation, Investment and Trade Programme (REMIT) Steering Committee was held in Islamabad today with Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb in the chair. British High Commissioner to Pakistan Ms Jane Marriott and senior leadership from key government ministries, along with REMIT's implementing partners - World Bank, GCSI, and ASI, were also in attendance.According to Radio Pakistan, the Committee reviewed the work done by the stakeholders in different sectors of the economy, particularly focusing on revenue mobilisation, investment climate, macroeconomic governance, trade, and climate change. The aim was to strengthen macroeconomic stability and improve conditions for high and sustained inclusive growth.Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb expressed appreciation for the overall progress of the Programme and urged a more proactive and dedicated approach from different stakeholders for the urgent implementation of final deliverables. The Minister committed to personally overseeing the progress in the completion of various activities, outputs, and outcomes of the Programme to ensure it stays on track.
