Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan has emphasized the vital role of Intellectual Property Rights in driving innovation, creativity and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in the country.Addressing Seminar organized by Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with Intellectual Property Organization to commemorate World Intellectual Property Day 2024, the Minister said that Pakistan was blessed with huge natural resources and need to channelize these resources and streamline the direction.The minister reaffirmed the government's resolve to prioritize the development of a robust national Intellectual Property framework that fosters innovation and creativity for ensuring equitable access to the benefits of IP, especially for marginalized communities.He said this day holds special significance as we reflect on the crucial role of Intellectual Property in fostering innovation, creativity and ultimately advancing the Sustainable Development Goals.Jam Kamal said that government w ill promote partnerships and collaborations between government, industry, academia, and civil society to drive innovation and entrepreneurship, with a strong emphasis on technologies and solutions that support the achievement of the SDGs.Source: Radio Pakistan
