Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar says Pakistan Navy has a leading role in country's defence and promoting the blue economy.He was addressing a ceremony, held at the Naval Headquarters in Islamabad today in connection with the Navy Day.The Minister said Pakistan wants good relations with all the neighbouring countries, but at the same time it is fully prepared to thwart any threat. He said the armed forces of Pakistan are also fully focused on complete elimination of terrorism from the country. He expressed the confidence that sacrifices of martyrs will not go in vain and peace will be ensured in the country.Highlighting the importance of blue economy, Attaullah Tarar said the government is giving utmost importance to the policy regarding ports for a sustainable economy. He said Pakistan Navy has a vital role in taking advantage of the blue economy.The Minister presented a rich tribute to the martyrs of Pakistan Navy for their resilience in the defence of the motherland.On th e occasion, he laid floral wreath at the martyrs' memorial and offered fateha.Source: Radio Pakistan
