In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, complete shutdown will be observed on Thursday to pay tribute to iconic freedom leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani on his first martyrdom anniversary.

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has urged the people to march towards residence of Syed Ali Gilani in Srinagar.

During his life-long struggle, Syed Ali Gilani along with his family suffered immense hardships but he remained firm as a rock in the face of immense adversity.

Meanwhile, shutdown was observed in Jammu region on the call of Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association, Jammu today.

Call for the strike was given by the Bar Association Jammu in protest against non-serious attitude of the Modi government towards the miseries of the common people as well as the problems faced by the legal fraternity. The strike was supported by some political parties and organizations.
