Health Ministry and Roche Sign Deal to Provide Free Cancer Medicines

Islamabad: Ministry of National Health Services and Swiss company Roche have signed an agreement for the provision of free-of-cost medicines to cancer patients.

According to Radio Pakistan, Minister for National Health Services Mustafa Kamal announced that in the first phase, 745 patients from Islamabad, AJK, and Gilgit-Baltistan will benefit from this initiative. He noted that thirty percent of the cost will be covered by the government, while the remaining seventy percent will be funded by Roche company.

This partnership marks a significant step towards improving healthcare access for cancer patients in the region, reflecting the commitment of both the government and Roche to support those in need. The initiative is expected to alleviate the financial burden on patients and their families while ensuring timely access to essential cancer medications.
