Lodhran: Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi has emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring a safe journey for railway passengers by implementing comprehensive safety measures. He announced various initiatives aimed at overhauling the railway system during a media briefing in Lodhran.
According to Radio Pakistan, Abbasi revealed that the government is actively working on reforms to improve the railway infrastructure. He noted that the Punjab government has allocated seven billion rupees to construct proper railway crossings at previously unmanned points, addressing a critical safety concern.
Furthermore, Abbasi outlined plans for expanding the railway network to boost regional connectivity. The new railway links, extending from Kohat to Kulachi and further to Mazar-i-Sharif in Uzbekistan, are expected to enhance trade and travel in the region, promoting economic ties with neighboring countries.
