Government to Launch Fast Train Service Between Islamabad and Rawalpindi

Islamabad: The government has announced plans to launch a modern and fast train service connecting Islamabad and Rawalpindi. A meeting chaired by Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi decided to expedite the completion of the railway project from Margalla Station in Islamabad to Saddar Station in Rawalpindi.

According to Radio Pakistan, the framework agreement for the project is set to be finalized and signed next week. The Ministry of Railways will be responsible for providing the track infrastructure, while the Capital Development Authority (CDA) will manage the train service itself.

Hanif Abbasi remarked that the launch of the rail service between the two cities will serve as an excellent public welfare initiative, enabling people to travel quickly and easily between the twin cities in approximately twenty minutes. Mohsin Naqvi highlighted that this project aligns with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s vision of public relief.

Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry emphasized that the train service will offer a fast and affordable transportation solution for the public, significantly reducing traffic congestion on the roads.
