Government Initiates Measures to Safeguard Farmers’ Economic Interests

Islamabad:Minister for National Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain has announced that the government is implementing measures to protect the economic interests of farmers, ensuring that they have access to agricultural inputs at reasonable rates.

According to Radio Pakistan, the minister addressed an event in Islamabad, highlighting efforts to guarantee that farmers receive fair prices for their produce, thereby boosting agricultural productivity.

The Ministry of National Food Security is currently working on setting the wheat price for the upcoming season. Additionally, the minister noted that both the national seed policy and the national agricultural biotechnology policy have been approved. The seed policy aims to provide high-quality, climate-resilient, and high-yielding seed varieties, while the biotechnology policy is designed to modernize the agricultural sector.

The minister also shared that the Prime Minister has approved a national olive policy, marking significant global recognition for the country's olive industry.
