Gillani Offers Condolences at Norwegian Embassy on King Harald V’s Passing

Islamabad: Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani today visited the residence of the Ambassador of Norway in Islamabad and recorded his condolences in the condolence book opened following the passing of King Harald V of Norway. Upon arrival, he was received by senior officers of the Embassy.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Acting President expressed profound sorrow over the passing of King Harald V. Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani, on behalf of the Government and people of Pakistan and himself, extended his heartfelt condolences to King Haakon VIII, the Royal Family, and the people of Norway.

The Acting President noted that King Harald V had served Norway with wisdom, dignity, and devotion for over thirty-five years. He said the late King's long reign and dedicated service to his country and people would be remembered with great respect.

The Acting President conveyed that the thoughts and prayers of the people of Pakistan are with King Haakon VIII, the Royal Family, and the people of Norway during this time of sorrow. He also prayed that the departed soul may rest in eternal peace.
