Islamabad: Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima has highlighted the significant potential for collaboration between Pakistan and Japan in emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, robotics, semiconductors, chip design, smart manufacturing, electric mobility, cyber-security, and clean technology. She made these remarks while virtually addressing the Pakistan Business Seminar held in Tokyo.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister emphasized that Japan brings technological excellence, innovation, and precision, while Pakistan offers a young population equipped with talent, energy, and ambition. She stressed the importance of moving beyond traditional cooperation toward co-creation to build a shared technological future.

Shaza Fatima stated that Pakistan does not wish to remain merely a consumer of technology but aims to become an active contributor to its development. She noted that Pakistan is an increasingly connected country and is determined to enhance its position in the global digital economy.

Highlighting Pakistan's investment environment, Shaza Fatima mentioned that the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) provides a platform to ensure investor-friendly policies, facilitate investors, and promote continuity and certainty in the investment process. She expressed Pakistan's readiness to work directly with Japanese companies interested in investing in the country's technology sector and other areas of the economy.
