ECNEC Approves Ten Projects Costing Over Rs172b.

Islamabad: The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) has greenlit ten significant projects totaling 172.7 billion rupees during its meeting in Islamabad. The meeting, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, took place on Monday. However, one project was deferred as the Ministry of Health has been asked to provide further clarification.

According to Radio Pakistan, the approved projects are primarily focused on the infrastructure sector, aiming to enhance connectivity in the regions of Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Sindh. Out of these, six projects are concentrated in Balochistan, indicating a substantial investment in the province’s infrastructure development.

Moreover, a notable inclusion in the approval list is a World Bank-funded initiative aimed at developing solid waste infrastructure in Karachi. This project alone is valued at 29.2 billion rupees, underscoring the emphasis on improving urban waste management in one of Pakistan’s largest cities.
